Find Peace of Mind in the Present

If you are experiencing depression, you are likely putting an unhealthy amount of focus on the past. If you are experiencing anxiety, you are likely putting an unhealthy amount of focus on the future. It is in the present that we find peace of mind.

Take notice to what is going on around you in the moment. Regardless of how much sadness or hurt you may be experiencing, make an effort to acknowledge and appreciate positive things (no matter how small) occurring in your life each day.

If living in the moment is not your norm, it may take some practice. Mediation and yoga are great ways to find your center during all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
