FAQ

Each therapist has their own unique style of providing counseling services. The following information is related to the therapeutic experience provided by the counselors at Pamper Your Mind, LLC.

1. Who is appropriate for counseling services?
Counseling is a wonderful service to enhance anyone's life whether you are suffering from a trauma, experiencing confusing thoughts or feelings, or if you are seeking personal growth. Similar to meeting with a financial advisor, people who seek help while things are stable work towards greater wealth. Those who wait until bankruptcy must work to first get out of dept. The sooner you reach out for support, the quicker you can get relief and begin healing. If you are experiencing stress, depression, and/or anxiety, do not procrastinate getting help.

2. Is counseling really effective?
The effectiveness of counseling is only limited by the willingness of the client to reach out for help and be open to change. Even when it seems there is no hope, speaking with a counselor can often alleviate pain and end feelings of isolation.

3. What should I expect from my initial counseling session?
The initial counseling session will be approximately 60-90 minutes. The client will be asked to sign forms related to HIPAA requirements and consent to treatment. The session is geared towards developing a therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client. The client is encouraged to ask any questions they may have about the counseling process and the therapist's ability to assist in their personal goals. The therapist will gather information regarding the client's background, current stressors, and related symptoms.

Together, the therapist and client will determine if they will be the best fit for the client's needs. If at any time the client or therapist feels the client may experience greater therapeutic benefits with another therapist, they will be assisted in finding the best resources and referrals for their specific needs.

It is normal and natural to feel some anxiety about attending your first counseling session. Knowing what to expect will help alleviate some of these feelings, but you may still feel nervous about meeting your therapist. Keep in mind, you will never be forced to share anything you are not comfortable disclosing and will be allowed to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

4. How often and how long is counseling?
Generally speaking, counseling sessions are 45-50 min sessions, once a week, with treatment goal reviews every seven weeks. However, treatment plans are always developed with consideration to individual needs. They can be tailored to meet more or less frequently and for longer or shorter durations. The therapist will work with the client to determine personal goals for counseling. Together, they will decide the frequency and length of counseling necessary to most effectively reach treatment goals.

5. Will my information be kept confidential?
As healthcare provider's, therapists are required by law to abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations. These laws protect your privacy of personal health care information. We are committed to providing you a safe and confidential environment. You may visit http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/ for further information on privacy laws and limitations. If you have any further questions or concerns about your confidentiality, you are welcome to discuss them with your therapist

6.  Will others see me in the therapy office?
Pamper Your Mind is especially sensitive to meeting the needs of the leaders in our community.  We respect the need for you to have the highest level of confidentiality possible.  Our office is embedded in a holistic space.  No one will know if you are in our waiting room for a facial, chiropractic adjustment, or therapy.
